.The Buckstop Junction is a historic town that is home to a number of buildings dating back to late 19th and early 20th centuries. The town is set in a 20-acre open site and is located at Missouri Valley Fairground in Bismarck, ND.
At the Buckstop Junction, you literally walk into the past. The town has an atmosphere that still retains much of the period it reflects, so you really feel like visiting a place from a century ago. On-site structures include the classic building of the Lein School and the Sterling Railroad Depot dating back to 1885. The town is also home to a coal mine camp complete with a scale house, a power shovel and a mine shaft. Check us out Here More recent buildings at the site include the Fort Lincoln Service Station and the Capital Aviation Hangar, both of which date back to the 1930s. A more stand-out structure at the Buckstop Junction is the 1st State Bank of McClusky which has a wooden structure and an embossed tin exterior. Also located on the grounds are two homestead sites, one of them originally built back in 1880. The great thing about this historic town is the ambiance. You will see a lot of families and groups when you visit. A number of on-site eateries and food stalls offer fresh and traditional foods. Pop into The Vintage Gift Shop to check out the awesome souvenirs and take back something memorable from your trip. The town is the site of a Harvest Festival that takes place on the third Sunday of every August. So if you plan to visit the place in the summers, you may plan it accordingly to catch the event.
